Peaky Talks will take you on a dark journey of discovery. A journey about poverty, crime and gangs which still has a resonance in the 21st century.
Set at the fantastic Mockingbird Theatre, Prof. Carl Chinn MBE will bring to life the real gangs that terrorised the racecourses of England in the 1920s and the real gang leaders. With a fantastic variety of beverages on offer, you are invited to sit back and relax as the Professor transports you back to the 1890s and early 1900s, recounting the story of the real peaky blinder gangs and when the term “Peaky Blinder” first came to light.
The Professor will the conclude the Real Peaky Blinders story by telling you about the violent and bloody gang war that erupted on the racecourses of southern England in 1921 and explain what happened to the gangs and their leaders. He will then take any questions you may have.
After the talk, you will also get the chance to buy merchandise including the Prof. Carl Chinn’s best-selling book, with an opportunity to have your photo taken with him and get your book signed.
