Cadbury World

Introduction To Cadbury World in birmingham

Chocolate is a big hit in our house so a trip to Cadbury World in Birmingham was definitely on the cards! First, we pre-booked our tickets online and I’m glad we did. It guarantees you entrance and you also get a discount when you buy tickets in advance. We arrived by car and used their onsite free parking. Upon entering we was greeted with FREE chocolate which was a real bonus with the children. Above all, the tour was very informative and my children (aged 10 and 12) enjoyed listening to the facts as we went around.

You get to visit many different rooms as you go along. Firstly was the Bournville Experience which explained all about the Cadbury family and the history of Bournville. Furthermore, you get to watch the chocolatiers demonstrate some traditional chocolate making skills (which smells lovely)!

Secondly you also receive a little tub of chocolate with a choice of toppings. You can then visit the packaging plant. Although not active you get to understand the workings of the production line. There is also a video playing to show the manufacturing process.

Cadbury world 4d cinema

We visited the 4D cinema and the children loved it. You may have to queue but it’s worth the little wait. This can be visited before or after your exhibition tour so you don’t have to rush! There is a little train ride that you can go on and is wheelchair friendly so everyone can enjoy the ride. In fact, the whole experience is wheelchair friendly. (I usually take note of these things for my friend’s child who is disabled).

There is a play area for children and you can visit the Cadbury Cafe for a bite to eat. It has lots of food on offer, from light bites, to full hot main meals including sandwiches, salads and cakes. We all loved the cafe and would definitely recommend it.

A lovely little gift to take home can also be ordered from when you visit the chocolate making room. In addition they do some great personalised gifts to take home with you. And, no trip would be complete without visiting the ‘World’s Biggest Cadbury Shop’. There are loads of souvenirs and chocolate on offer.

Cadbury World is in a great location – we took a little walk around Bournville Village and thoroughly enjoyed it. We would certainly recommend Cadbury World to everyone!
